📒 Trading Journal

Log real trades with your reason, stop, target and emotions. Open positions are valued at live prices, and closed trades build your win rate, payoff ratio and mistake-type stats. Data stays on this device. Not investment advice.

Open positions (live)

Crypto uses Binance spot USDT last trade price (WebSocket, about every second); stocks come from Yahoo Finance via our server every 60 s while the page is visible. Stock prices may be 15–20+ minutes late depending on the exchange; each card shows the quote time. R-multiple = P&L ÷ initial risk (|entry − stop| × qty).

My trading stats (closed trades only)

Computed separately per currency (USDT, USD, KRW…), never mixed. P&L is after fees; partial exits are summed into one trade. Weekday and hour use the entry time in this device's time zone. With few trades, chance plays a large part.

P&L calendar and reflections

Colour shows realized P&L on the day of each exit (partial exits included, after fees). ● marks a reflection note; the small dot marks a day you journaled.

💾 Backup, export and setup tags

Records live only in this browser (localStorage) and are never sent to a server. Clearing browser data or switching devices loses them, so export a JSON backup now and then. Move to another device with JSON export / import.

Setup tag suggestions

× removes a tag from the suggestions (trades already logged keep theirs).

What this tool does

A journal for the crypto and stock trades you actually made, logged with your reason, planned stop and target, setup and emotions at the time. Open positions are valued at live prices with unrealized P&L, distance to stop and target, and R-multiple. Closed trades alone build your win rate, payoff ratio, expectancy, stats by setup, emotion, weekday and hour, a cumulative P&L curve and a P&L calendar. This page never places orders, and the stats are past results computed from your own records, not investment advice. Records are stored only in this device's browser.

How it is calculated

Crypto prices come straight from Binance's public spot USDT API and WebSocket. Open crypto trades and the coin you are typing share one combined stream (miniTicker, about every second); after three failed connections it switches to a backup host, then to polling every 10 seconds. Stock and ETF prices come from Yahoo Finance via this site's server and its shared cache (/api/market/chart, 5-minute bars for 1 day), re-requested every 60 seconds while the page is visible. Exchanges delay quotes differently (Korean stocks about 20 minutes), so each card shows the quote time. Indices, FX and futures cannot be traded directly and are not accepted; only stocks (EQUITY) and ETFs are. Formulas: realized P&L of one exit = direction × (exit − entry) × exit qty − exit fee − entry fee × (exit qty ÷ total qty), with long = +1 and short = −1. Unrealized P&L of an open trade = direction × (last − entry) × remaining qty − the remaining share of the entry fee. Initial risk = |entry − stop| × qty; R-multiple = P&L ÷ initial risk (only when a stop was set). Statistics use only closed trades (nothing left) and are computed per currency (USDT, USD, KRW…).

How the numbers and records work

Partial exits and P&L

A trade can be closed in several parts. Each exit's realized P&L is computed for its quantity, and the entry fee is shared out by the exited fraction. When nothing is left the trade is closed, and the sum of all exits is its final P&L. Return in the list and stats is final P&L ÷ (entry × exited qty). If you logged an exit wrongly, expand the trade, delete it with × (undo is available) and log it again.

Tables by setup, emotion, weekday, hour and plan

Closed trades are grouped by each key, showing count, win rate, average P&L per trade, total and average R. Emotion means the one picked at entry; weekday and hour are the entry time in this device's time zone. The sentences above simply name the highest or lowest group in these tables (groups of 2 or more) and say nothing about causes or future results.

Cumulative P&L curve and P&L calendar

The curve adds each closed trade's P&L in the order the trades fully closed, starting from 0 at the first entry. The calendar colours each day by the realized P&L of exits made that day, including partial exits of trades still open, so its monthly total can differ from the stats total. Tap a day to see its entries and exits and to write that day's reflection.

Storage, backup and undo

Everything is stored only in this browser's localStorage (key xc:trade_journal:v1) and never sent to a server. Changes in another tab of the same browser are picked up here. Right after a delete, import or delete-all, Undo in the notice restores the previous state. A JSON backup contains trades, exits, reflections and setup suggestions; importing replaces your current records with the file. In the CSV each trade is one row, with its exits joined in one column.

Things to know

Frequently asked questions

Does this page place orders or connect to my exchange account?

No. There is no order function and no login or API key. You log trades you already made by hand. Prices from Binance's public feed and this site's stock relay are used only for valuation. Records stay in this browser's localStorage and are never sent to a server.

How are win rate, payoff and expectancy computed?

A closed trade's P&L is the realized P&L of all its exits combined, after fees. Win rate = trades with P&L above 0 ÷ all closed trades (exactly 0 counts as neither). Average win and average loss are the means of winning and losing trades, payoff = average win ÷ average loss, expectancy = total P&L ÷ closed trades, and gross win ÷ gross loss is the sum of wins over the sum of losses. Average R uses only trades with a stop.

Why are results shown per currency?

Crypto P&L is in USDT, US stocks in USD and Korean stocks in KRW. Converting and adding them would mix exchange-rate moves into your performance, so each currency is computed separately. With more than one currency, pick it above the stats or calendar. R-multiples are unitless and good for comparison.

What is an R-multiple?

How many times your planned risk you made or lost. Initial risk = |entry − stop| × qty and R = P&L ÷ initial risk. If you planned to lose 100 at the stop and made 250, that is +2.5R; exiting right at the stop is about −1R, a little worse after fees. Trades without a stop get no R.

Why can't I log an index (Nasdaq-100, KOSPI) or FX?

Indices and FX rates are not instruments you can buy or sell directly, so they are not accepted as real trades. Only symbols whose instrument type from the server is stock (EQUITY) or ETF are accepted. Log the ETF that tracks the index instead (e.g. Nasdaq-100 → QQQ). For Korean stocks, a bare 6-digit code is tried on KOSPI (.KS) and then KOSDAQ (.KQ).

What does the journaling streak count?

A day counts when you log a trade, record an exit or write a daily reflection. If the run reaches today or yesterday, it shows how many consecutive days lead up to it; skip a day and it restarts at 1 with your next entry. It has nothing to do with profit.

A journal of trades you actually made; it never places orders. Statistics are past results from your own records, not investment advice. Prices may be delayed or interrupted.
